This doesn’t really belong on this blog, but it’s a story that I kind of want to tell, and while it’s really short, it’s still too long for twitter.
A long time ago, out of curiosity I asked my dad how he proposed to my mother. Turns out it was a pretty simple story, and may not have been what a lot of people consider an actual proposal, but I still like it. He was at the beach one day with her, and while they were sitting down watching my older brothers play (I wasn’t born yet. I might have been conceived. I’m a bit fuzzy on the date), my dad turned to look over at my mum, and said, “We should get married.” To which my mother responded, “Okay”.
Something struck me about it at the time, and I still don’t know what it is now. Maybe the simplicity? I don’t know. But as far as proposals go, I’d say that one was pretty decent.
